As Seen Through My Specs
Author: Dr. Ivan Rusilko and Everly Drummond Genre: , ,

Welcome again to Cara Gadero, and many thanks for her review of the 3rd book in the series…

From the very first page you are taken on an amazing journey that will incite your senses.  A book has never ignited me sensually the way this one has. The authors pulled me in from page one and had me holding my breath until very last word. Their ability to mesh both fact with fiction introduces you into two very identifiable characters. I fell in love with both of them. I laughed, then I cried, I became mad and even huffed at least once. I found myself starting to talk to the characters. I wanted their relationship to work. I just couldn’t stop turning the pages.

What I found truly amazing was that the story flowed so seamlessly.  The character development was impressive, the setting exquisite. Ivan’s love and respect for Jaden was bordering on being overly indulgent. But oh so dreamy!!  Yes…you can sigh now.  Unlike other book boyfriends, this man is real….I know can you believe it??  Do men like Ivan actually exist?

The use of food and wine in the story line makes it all the more appealing and sexy.  After all, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.  Jaden’s simple ways drive Ivan crazy.  We all want to be Jaden in this book.  Ivan’s expressions of love will captivate you. I’ve said this before but he’s an old soul that speaks to your heart. He seems to live every moment to the fullest and enjoys going to the extreme where his love is concerned. Jaden is a fragile young woman who blossoms with his indulgences. Ivan’s love for his family and Jaden left me with a wonderful taste in my mouth and a indelible smile on my face. As for Jaden, I would like to see her more attentive to Ivan but I think or better hope that will come in time.

Her unsure self becomes evident when she berates herself for thinking,  that even with a few glasses of wine for  encouragement, she doesn’t stand a chance of capturing the eye of the gorgeous man she’s been watching across the room.  Her reaction to the  female friend that joins his group on the balcony is a clue into her own character flaws. She talks herself into not approaching him because she feels she couldn’t hold this sex God’s attention for long.

As the story continues, Jaden decides to take a moment for herself and wonder into the beautiful gardens of the estate.  The location of the dinner is very beautifully described.  You can visualize the fountain she approaches and the carefree way she feels in being in the moment.

Enter Dr. Ivan Rusilko.

”Just then a tantalizing scent floated by on the breeze.  Mmmmm…Jaden thought, her mind beginning to work.  A hint of cigar and something deliciously male….”

At this point, I was ready to swoon.  They begin a sensual dance that will leave you breathless.

‘You were watching me?” “No,” he corrected her with a hint of amusement. “I was watching you watch me.  There’s a difference.”

He appears almost out of no where and he captivates her.   Jaden is so drawn to him that she questions her own judgment.  How could she fall so quickly for a man she just met. Their connection is hot and steamy from the moment they touch.

The sensual scene that entails will have you wishing that you were Jaden Thorne. Ivan certainly has a wonderful way with words.

“It’s funny how a feeling can take a few seconds or a few years to surface.  When I first saw you, I knew there was something there, something I couldn’t put my finger on.  It drove me wild.”

Their night of passion is a decadent meal of your senses. Chapter by chapter Ivan pursues the object of his love.  As a music lover, I truly felt a connection with the chapters titles of songs that touched on the tone and feeling of each chapter.  Each choice was passionate and sensuous.

This novel is for anyone who ever fell in love.  A true romance, filled with anticipation, and a wonderful seduction …… Loved how the story was sweet with lots of spicy….couldn’t wait for Entrée to be served.
