As Seen Through My Specs

Expiration dating… interesting concept right?  Meet a guy, and say OK, I just want to have some fun, you just want to have some fun, let’s hang out for a few weeks and then when we’ve had our fill we’ll go our separate way, it’s all good.  Could you do it?  I’m not sure I could…

Laurelyn Prescott is on a flight, Nashville –>LAX–>Sydney–>Some place called Wagga Wagga… She and her best friend Addison are headed to Oz to have an extended stay with Addison’s brother Ben, 3 months to be exact.  She needs to escape from something, needs time to screw hew head on straight, and get as far away from her problems as she can…. halfway across the globe out to do it, right?

On their first night in town Laurelyn, Addison, her brother Ben and his best bud Zac hit a local night club, where Laurelyn hits the open mic.  Turns out she’s quit the songbird, and she catches the eye of a man sitting in that dark corner with her cover of Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews.

Jack McLachlan is that handsome, slightly older man sitting in the dark corner, he’d been there hunting for his new expiration date, and is taken with the American.  The thing about Jack is he’s also famous and incredibly wealthy, maybe even Oz’ most eligible…  He pays the waitress some pretty sweet cash to investigate and find out who she is, and what her upcoming plans are so, you know, he can bump in to her… or stalk her, whatever…

Showing up at an event that Ben and Zac are attending for school he gets her attention and asks her to meet him, he’s got something he’d like to discuss, he’ll send his driver to fetch her… While she and Mystery Date are chatting it up Addison is busy putting the sexy moves on Zac, she’s got no time to pay attention to Laurelyn and her handsome dangerous stranger.

Laurelyn decides to take the bait and show up… Jack, or Lachlan (the name he gives her), makes her an offer… date me (fuck me) for the three months you’re here, no string, no real names and in the end we walk away, no hurt feelings, no broken hearts, no drama…

Paige (as Laurelyn decides to call herself) decides, after some persuasion to take him up on her offer, much to Ben’s chagrin, since he’s been lusting after her from the moment she stepped off the plane.

The two of them become entangled in a passionate and not as drama and feeling free an affair as either had planned… she’s not sure she gets why he needs to be so secretive, he doesn’t know what she’s running away from, but they go, not so gently into those hot and sultry days and nights…

The story is gripping, their relationship is so well written, switching chapter by chapter between their POVs, which as you know is a story telling vehicle I love.  The books this year just keep getting better and better, and I can’t wait until May when the sequel comes out… yeah it’s a series, I’m a series whore… we all know it, and I’ve got the t-shirt to prove it… ok I don’t but maybe I needs to have one made for me…

Seriously, one click it, read it, love it, thank me for it with likes, and hugs and muffin baskets.  Georgia will be at the Boston Authors Event this weekend and I can’t wait to meet her and tell her how fucking awesome her book is, seriously…
